What Every Guest Needs to
Know...
What should I wear?
Something comfortable. Most of our folks dress casually. If
you look around carefully, you can spy a tie and a sports
coat here and there. We believe that God is far more
concerned with a person’s heart than their clothes.
When and where is
your Sunday morning service?
We meet at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. for worship each Sunday. We are
located at 23700 Stringtown Road in Clarksburg, Maryland.

Where do I go when
I get there?
When you pull into our driveway, you will note signs
directing you to parking spaces that are reserved for our
first time guests. These spaces are located right in front
of the building. If you have any questions about parking,
volunteers in our parking lot ministry will be available to
assist you. As you approach the building, our children’s
ministry is located in the right wing of the building. If
you have little ones who want to enjoy a high-energy time of
learning about God, enter through the doors on the far right
of the building. If you want to head straight into our main
auditorium where our worship service is held, enter through
either side of the large room in the center of the building.
Upon entering, you will be greeted by one of the friendly
folks on our Hospitality team and given a bulletin with
information about the morning service. Then, you can find a
seat, settle in, and relax.
What happens during
a Sunday morning service?
Our services are relaxed, and the atmosphere is friendly and
comfortable, so our hope is that you will sit back, relax,
and enjoy your time with us. Usually, we begin with a
musical prelude as a way of inviting folks to find their
seats and begin preparing their hearts to encounter God.
After the prelude, we spend about thirty minutes or so
worshipping and celebrating God’s presence through music and
song. We take a few minutes each week to update folks on
events and news around the church and take an offering (as
our guest, feel no obligation to participate in the
offering). On a fairly regular basis, we use either video
clips or live drama to illustrate the message of the day.
The pastor’s message will last about thirty minutes. The
entire service lasts around 75 minutes.
What happens with
my kids?
We have a wonderful children’s ministry (we call it
Promiseland) that teaches and cares for children during the
Sunday service. We want children to think of church as a
place that is fun, safe, and filled with God’s presence.
Kids should learn to experience God at their level, become
equipped to pray, and learn to trust in God for themselves.
Consequently, we’ve designed Promiseland with these kinds of
goals in mind. We also have a class for middle-school
student’s that takes place concurrently with the Sunday
morning service as well. For more information about
Promiseland or our Student Ministry, click on one of these
links: Promiseland;
CBSM.
What happens after
the service ends?
You will have a chance to eat, drink, and be friendly! Every
week after the service, we have coffee and snacks available
for everyone. Please feel free to hang out for a while, grab
a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, and introduce yourself to
some people.
What if I have
questions about Cedarbrook?
Immediately following every service, we offer ‘Cedarbrook in
7 Minutes’ in the front of the auditorium especially for our
first time guests. You can stop by and ask any questions you
may have, and also learn a bit more about who we are as a
church, where we’ve been, and where we’re going.
